Art Institute Modern Wing

The Art Institute of Chicago opened it's Modern Wing last week. This addition makes the Art Institute the second largest art museum in the country.
Yesterday, Paul and I took the train down to check it out.
The walkway provides more great views of the city and Millennium park.

All images were captured using my 14-24mm zoom lens (mostly 14mm).

stay off the grass

As I was cutting the grass today I came across a nest of rabbits. There were probably 5 or 6 babies that scattered to the fence line but one of them ran towards the house, we will call him "buddy". As everyone knows, when a baby rabbit runs towards the house it only means one thing......

he wants to pose for me.

The challenge in posing Buddy was the fact that my Honda severed his lower half. I used my 105mm macro lens on my D3.
Just kidding, no lucky rabbits feet were lost in this shoot.

Starved Rock State Park

I took a drive to Starved Rock State Park today to try out my 14-24mm wide angle zoom lens. LaSalle canyon is also one of my favorites in the winter. The Illinois river is still well over flood stage.
